COMPETITION Longines Global Champion Tour: Doha

For the third year the phenomenal AL SHAQAB equestrian facility in Doha, Qatar, will be the stage for the electrifying opening leg of the 2021 Longines Global Champions Tour and GCL season. The launchpad to the 2021 season at AL SHAQAB, part of Qatar Foundation, will welcome top international horses and riders from around the world. Founded by His Highness the Father Emir, this spectacular venue will see the best athletes in the world kick-start their campaign for the prestigious LGCT and GCL titles, as riders and teams battle for supremacy in the Championship series.

COMPETITION The Dutch Masters

The Dutch Masters offers an extensive jumping program for three days with the Rolex Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon as a spectacular ending. The national and international top dressage riders make a two day appearance in the Brabanthallen. The highlight is the FEI Dressage World Cup Freestyle on Saturday afternoon.

COMPETITION CSI Eindhoven

Since 1949, CSI Eindoven organizes a four-day event with show jumping competitions and entertainment. Access to CSI Eindhoven is free. On Saturday, the spectacular "Derby of Eindhoven" takes place. And on Sunday, there will be a competition "VDL Groep Grand Prix of Eindhoven".

ART A Horse of Course: The Equine Image in Art & Thrill of the 'Chace: Steeplechase in Art

A Horse of Course: The Equine Image in Art is a traveling educational exhibition organized by the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. It features 12 photographic reproductions of iconic works in the VMFA's permanent collections.
Thrill of the ’Chace: Steeplechase in Art showcases paintings, sculptures, and works on paper from the National Sporting Library & Museum’s permanent collection and venues from across the country. First run from church steeple to church steeple in Ireland in the 1750s, steeplechasing, its early alternate spelling “steeplechacing,” has developed a rich history around the globe. Jumping fences, leaping ditches, and streaking across the countryside in brightly colored silks, skilled jockeys and their mounts have won the hearts and minds of spectators and artists across centuries. Now run on courses ranging from Aintree, England to Middleburg, Virginia, the excitement and passion of this sport has been immortalized in countless pieces of art.
Founded in 1954, The National Sporting Library & Museum is dedicated to preserving, promoting and sharing literature, art and culture of equestrian, angling and field sports.
